Rebecca is a 27-year-old who unfortunately was the victim of a severe rear end collision one and a half years prior to seeing us. She took medications and underwent therapy but her symptoms continued and became severe. When we first saw a Rebecca, she had evidence of nerve damage as noted by weakness in the right leg and loss of sensation of the right leg. Her MRI showed disc herniations at L5/S1 and L4/5. We performed specialized testing that revealed that only her L5/S1 disc was causing her problems. Rebecca underwent L5/S1 discectomy. After surgery, there was complete relief of her leg pain and a complete restoration of normal strength in her right leg. Her back pain was reduced by over 70%.
